SOTE aim's to do good, be good, and have consumers wear good. Our mission is to redefine women's fashion by providing high-quality staple pieces that transcend fast fashion trends. We address the challenges of disposable fashion, making getting dressed less intimidating with small batch, timeless garments in inclusive sizing. Guided by transparency and community, our values of integrity, excellence, respect, and creativity shine through. We aspire to be perceived as a brand offering enduring, investment-worthy pieces. Ultimately, we aim to transform how women perceive clothing, making it timeless, empowering, and accessible, while contributing to a slowdown in the fast fashion cycle. We believe that slow-fashion needs to be the norm and we're doing our part to contribute to that. 

SOTE is an acronym for Salt Of The Earth, which derives from Matthew 5:13 in the bible. Salt is a preservative - so that things will last a long time. Salt also adds flavor - so that things are tasteful and enjoyable - and it brings out the flavor of other ingredients. SOTE by middle English definition also means sweet or fragrant. Altogether, our desire is for this label to produce pieces that last a long time, make your closet tasteful, complement other pieces in your closet, and create a sweet fragrance for all those who come across it — and above all, be a sweet aroma to God.  

We produce ethically and sustainably made pieces in small batches. When we say small-batch, we produce each style in a small batch of about 25 pieces, and restock only once our inventory gets low enough. We source materials that are not only good for you but good for the environment. We are currently 90% sustainable, with the vast majority of the 10% that's not being our packaging. If there is a piece of clothing that is not made of materials like cotton or linen, we ensure they are OEKO-TEX® certified against harmful chemicals. We truly believe the best way to limit impact is to sell quality goods that will last our customers a long time. That's why we design staple styles that remain in style year-round. Our owner designs from her office in Orange County, CA and works alongside two manufacturers, one in Los Angeles and one in China, to bring her designs to life. Both manufacturers have been vetted for their values, cleanliness, safe work environment, and fair wages. Both manufacturers are headed by women workers and we love them dearly!
